Concentric patterned stoneware bowl. h 9, w 22 cms
The patterns on this pot comes from a concentric geometric design found on Malaysian traditional pottery. The original pattern is impressed from a stick, but mine are inscribed with a method called scraffito where the incised lines are later inlaid with manganese dioxide to blacken them. They are then painted with wax to resist the turquoise glaze.
